Voltage Stabilizer Buying Guide: Which kVA for AC, Fridge, TV & Whole House

AC, fridge, TV or the whole house? The right stabilizer type and size for each, by appliance.

Mains voltage across Delhi NCR can swing widely, especially in summer, and that quietly damages motors, compressors and electronics. A stabilizer holds the voltage in a safe band. The trick is matching the right type and capacity to what you're protecting.

Match the stabilizer to the appliance

How to size it

For an AC, size by tonnage as above, leaving margin for the startup surge. For a fridge or TV, a small unit is enough. For a mainline stabilizer, size by your sanctioned load and how many heavy appliances run together — we'll work it out from your meter rating.

One per appliance, or a mainline unit?

A correctly sized mainline EML protects the whole premises from a single point. Many homes pair that with a dedicated stabilizer on a large AC. If only one or two appliances need protection, individual stabilizers are simpler and cheaper.

Watch the working voltage range

If your area sees deep voltage drops, choose a model with a wider working range (for example down to 90V) so the stabilizer keeps correcting instead of cutting out. Tell us your locality and we'll recommend the right range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which stabilizer do I need for a 1.5 ton AC?

A 1.5 ton AC is typically suited to a 3–4 kVA stabilizer such as the PEARL EM 4150+/4170+, with a built-in time-delay to protect the compressor. Share the exact model and we'll confirm.

Do inverter (5-star) ACs need a stabilizer?

They tolerate a wider voltage range, but in areas with frequent low voltage a stabilizer still protects the compressor — cheap insurance against a costly repair the AC warranty won't cover.

Is one mainline stabilizer better than several small ones?

A correctly sized mainline unit protects everything at once and is tidy. Very heavy individual loads like large ACs can still get a dedicated stabilizer; we'll advise based on your appliances.
